Patient Warming & Cooling Systems

Medical literature supports patient hyperthermia, and "Safer Healthcare Now" suggests patients undergoing surgical procedures have a decreased risk of surgical site infections (SSI) if normothermia is maintained during the perioperative period. Patient recovery times are also decreased. Equally as important, hypothermia, is now highly recommended and used as a fist line treatment modality for heart attack and stroke patients to minimize brain damage due to oxygen deprivation!

Patient Warming & Cooling Systems

Cincinnati Sub-Zero:

Safer Healthcare Now” reports one of the most common complaint from people having surgery is being cold in the pre-op holding area, the O.R. and the PACU. As well, General and Neuraxial anaesthesia impairs the bodies own thermoregulatory control. Consequently, most patients who are not actively warmed will become hypothermic intra, and post operatively. Medical literature suggests patients undergoing surgery will have a decreased risk of surgical site infection (SSI) if normothermia is maintained during the perioperative treatment period. Anaesthesia, anxiety, wet skin preps, and skin exposure in cold operating rooms can all contribute to Hypothermia.

Blanketrol III Hyper/Hypothermia System:

The Warm Air System is a compact lightweight unit that delivers gently moving warm air which is filtered first in the warm air unit, and again through CSZ's patented Filtered Flow Blankets. This dual filtration helps reduce airborne bacterial contaminants that could come in contact with patients.

Warm Air – Filtered Flo Blankets:

Filtered Flo Blankets are available in a variety of configurations to provide safe and effective patient warming for pre-op, intra-operative, post-op, and outpatient care. Each blanket has a unique non-woven surface, which delivers warm air evenly over the patient. They can be easily folded back to allow for access, and "will not float" off of the patient.
